Everything’s Perfect in ‘Metro… In Dino’ Trailer — Except the Missing KK Track

Love in 2025 looks complex, chaotic… and kind of beautiful. Anurag Basu is back with his signature style of storytelling, where music, emotion, and urban life collide. The trailer of Metro… In Dino dropped this Wednesday, and the internet has been a flurry of feelings ever since — from heartfelt nostalgia to the aching void left by the late singer KK.

The film is a spiritual sequel to Life in a… Metro, and this time, Basu’s lens captures love in the age of swipes, second chances, and silent heartbreaks. With a powerhouse cast featuring Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, Neena Gupta, and Anupam Kher, the trailer packs in a multitude of stories — each raw, real, and relatable.

We see Aditya’s character struggle with the ambiguity of modern love — “confusing,” he calls it — as he stumbles into a playful, seemingly uncomplicated relationship with Sara’s character. In contrast, Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh’s arc feels like a whirlwind romance—sparking at a Holi bash, dancing through wild adventures, and eventually culminating in marriage and parenthood.

Meanwhile, Pankaj Tripathi and Konkona Sen Sharma light up the screen with their quirky, quarrelsome chemistry as a couple navigating the stagnation of a long-term marriage. And in a heartwarming twist, Neena Gupta and Anupam Kher’s gentle romance blooms in the cultural lanes of Kolkata — proving love has no expiry date.

As the trailer unfolds, the picture-perfect relationships start to fray at the edges. Trust issues, missed chances, and emotional baggage begin to surface — painting a canvas of love that’s more layered than glossy.

But the biggest talking point online? The music. While some praised the dialogues (“Kisi ke saath poori zindagi bitane ke liye… baar baar pyaar mein padta hai usi insaan ke saath”), others couldn’t help but yearn for KK’s voice — the soul of Life in a… Metro. Many felt Arijit Singh’s voice didn’t quite match the emotional grit, with fans openly wishing for “just one KK song to complete the album.”

One fan summed it up perfectly: “Sab kuch hai, bas KK ki awaaz nahi.”

(“Everything’s there… except KK’s voice.”)

Metro… In Dino is presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in association with Anurag Basu Productions Pvt. Ltd., and is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Taani Basu.

The film hits cinemas on July 4, 2025 — just in time to stir your heart with stories that feel painfully close to home.
